Application due at the time of Building Permit plan submission, identification of system failure, or upon notice of local Approving Authority.
PLEASE NOTE: You must complete a land evaluation with the county before submitting this application for a permit.

WHO NEEDS ONE?
Any individual or property owner who desires to have a sewage disposal (septic) system installed on their property or requiring repair to an existing system must get a Septic System Construction Permit.

WHAT INFORMATION MUST I PROVIDE?
Applicants can submit the following information into the online portal:
- Landowner name and address, location of the lot or site, size of lot, number of occupants, number of bedrooms, water use amounts, whether there is an excavated basement, whether there are basement plumbing fixtures, whether house and lot are staked, and name of contractor.
- A rough sketch of the property lines, house site, well location, existing septic system location (if applicable), planned driveway and utilities as well as directions to the site.
- Septic system specifications are required.
- If commercial property attach the supporting documents.

Application Review
Confirmation of receipt, tracking and record of receipt to applicant, review and assignment to local staff member, co-review with MDE if applicable, site plan review, field evaluation, minimum specifications provided to applicant and request for design, design received, design reviewed (MDE co-review if applicable), configuration of appropriate documentation (permit, easements, agreements if applicable), permit issued.
