Unusable and/or Unwanted Pesticide Disposal Program

 

This program allows growers in the state of Maryland to submit a registry of unusable pesticides to the Department of Agriculture. This information will then be sent to bid for contractors. The approved contractor will be tasked with collecting the unusable pesticides, which may require coordination with a contact person from the grower.

Review the steps - read carefully

  1. Acceptable Pesticides

    Only Pesticides and related crop adjuvants accepted.

    No empty containers, antifreeze, motor oil, fertilizer, etc. Unknowns ok if suspected pesticide.

    Site visit may be required by Agency or Agency Contractor to determine status of pesticides.

  2. Inventory Your Unusable Pesticides

    In order to complete this form, you will need to provide an itemized list of all unusable pesticides.

    You will need to separate pesticides by type as well as container size.

    If you have multiple pickup sites, you will need to submit a separate application for each site.

  3. Complete Application

    Login with your OneStop account and submit the application with all unusable pesticides you wish to have disposed.

What Happens After Submission

  1. Agency Review

    MDA will review your submission for completeness and accuracy. The agency may contact you if any corrections are needed.

  2. Contractor Bid Process

    At the end of the program, MDA will send out all data regarding unusable pesticide collection to a contractor bid process. Contractors will submit their bids to the state for approval.

  3. Pesticide Collection

    Once a contractor has received approval, they will contact growers to coordinate a collection time. Please work with the contractor to ensure a timely and efficient collection of your unusable pesticides.
